ABOUT ABOUT

How Degree Apprentices can be Key in Progression Planning in Your Business!  When you think of an ‘apprentice’ do you think of someone working towards a university degree? Or someone in their 30's, 40's, 50’s +? Or someone even working as a Director? You probably don’t, but this is the reality of apprenticeships in 2018.

In the competitive world of business we all look to attract and retain the most talented people to support and develop our businesses future growth.

As for people embarking on qualifications for their new careers and those looking to progress careers, today these people are looking at alternative channels to traditional degree routes, to combine employment. 'Degree Apprenticeships' is increasingly becoming a chosen route, combining securing a higher level qualification/degree whilst gaining valuable employment related experience, or up skilling their existing roles to enhance their careers.

Degree Apprenticeships differ from historical apprenticeships, so we want to dispel the myths, as they are designed by companies and professional sector bodies, ensuring they are specific to businesses needs, whether the company is a SME or global corporation. Employers experience full ownership and design of the content of apprenticeship standards and assessments.

In turn, companies benefit from motivated, committed individuals, bringing new energy, methodology and concepts to their roles the business.

This interactive event offers the opportunity to hear from an Associate Director of a company who has successfully integrated 'Degree Apprentices' in to their recruitment and progression planning with costs supported from levy funding, from individuals undertaking degree apprenticeships discussing what attracted them to their chosen employer, and information regarding the Apprenticeship Levy and Non Levy Payers Government funding.

Speakers

Amanda Hancock - Associate Director, Pick Everard

Dwayne Webb – Coventry University Apprenticeships – Chartered Management Degree Apprentice

In addition there will be 2 Degree Apprentice Students and a Degree Apprentice Tutor available as part of the interactive session.
