Coventrian Gary Hoffman, who has previously held top positions at Barclays and Barclaycard, was the man the Government recruited to sort out Northern Rock. He is currently chair of Hastings Insurance and chair of Coventry Building Society.
Coventry-born Rob Hamlin is the Commercial Director at CityFibre, the company driving forward full fibre connectivity in Coventry, making it a Gigabit city. Rob joined the company when it had just 20 employees – and it has grown to be a national player with more than 250 staff.
Carol Burke CBE FREng, the MD of Unipart Manufacturing Group based in the city, is a strong advocate of young people in engineering. In 2014, Carol was instrumental in a unique joint venture with Coventry University to establish a bespoke faculty of engineering on the Unipart site, linking academia with Unipart Manufacturing and the wider Unipart Group.
