The Digital Sector is enjoying rapid growth locally and nationally. However, it has been identified that the industry is facing significant challenges in terms of attracting, retaining and training staff with the required skills sets. Skills gaps are also a cause for concern. Following the recent area review it was recommended that the three college partners (Warwickshire College Group, Coventry College and North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College form a Joint Venture Company to work with local employers to not only show how apprenticeships (recruitment campaigns and upskilling) could plug some of the gaps but also work with employers to develop new apprenticeship standards (Trailblazers) to 'futureproof' the talent pool and continue to grow their businesses.
