This is a time of great investment in and technological change in UK rail, with cross-over technology from the auto and digital sectors, and future mobility solutions. The Midlands is at the forefront of many of these technologies, including battery and hydrogen powertrain, light-weighting and digital applications.
Coventry & Warwickshire is home to the major UK rail test site Quinton Rail Technology Centre, which as well as rolling stock testing, is a key site for the demonstration of digital, hydrogen and battery technology.
This event will showcase the QRTC site and facilities, and delegates can hear from local universities and technology companies to hear about their work in rail.
There will also be information about business support for rail companies and for those companies new to rail, how to get into the rail supply chain.
